Job Introduction
We are looking to expand our team at Mackworth Vehicle Conversion Specialist and currently have vacancies for Vehicle Assemblers (Vehicle Body Builders), based in our workshop facility at Derby.
You would be responsible for undertaking various aspects of vehicle body building and construction on a wide range of vehicle types. Installing and commissioning various parts and components and working with different materials, hand tools and power tools, during vehicle construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the construction of commercial vehicle bodies, as per drawings and specifications provided, using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpreting drawings and schematic layouts drawings.
- Measuring and cutting materials to the correct specifications.
- Fitting, assembling and commissioning components, as required, to specification or drawings.
Successful candidates must have:
- Previous experience or relevant industry experience of installing components using assembly instructions within a workshop environment.
- The ability to read and understand build specifications or instructions
- Proven ability to work using own initiative
- Ability to communicate well with other team members
- Demonstrate commitment, reliability and good time-keeping
Experience of vehicle body building would be desirable but not essential as training will be offered to the right candidate.
