Job Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for a commercial vehicle Quality & Compliance Inspector , based at our body building workshop in Derby.
Reporting to Design & Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination and administration of quality and compliance inspections, type approvals and IVA compliance, ensuring that all legal obligations are met prior to delivery of vehicle to the end user
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking receiving inspections on all vehicles, as they are delivered to site, and completing corresponding administration.
- Completing computerised inspection sheets with vehicle specification details.
- Carrying out compliance inspections for vehicle type approvals, and reporting any issues identified.
- Administration of compliance documentation (Stage 2 CoC’s) for VCA (Vehicle Certificate Agency)
- Liaising with the design team and workshops to ensure compliance to specification, reporting any issues identified.
- Arranging and controlling IVA test (Individual Vehicle Authority) process.
- Carrying out quality checks and inspections on all vehicles completed by workshop, prior to release and providing feedback on any issues identified.
- Managing the relationship with third party valeting business.
Successful candidates must have:
- Experience in a similar QC environment and role, ideally in relation to vehicle manufacturing or similar
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and be proactive in decision making
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate well with other team members
- Demonstrate commitment, reliability and good time-keeping
- Current Driving Licence, valid in the UK
